How do I edit or delete an exercise or activity?

You can use the Fitbit app to edit or delete any activity in your exercise history. Depending on the exercise, you can choose to edit the start and end times, distance covered, and calories burned. From the fitbit.com dashboard, you can delete activities, but not edit them.

  • Fitbit app
    1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Exercise tile. This is the tile that says “Track exercise" or shows how many days you've exercised this week.

    2. Tap the exercise you want to edit or delete.
    3. Tap the pencil icon to edit the exercise and the trash can icon to delete it (on iOS, tap the 3 dots icon and find an option to edit or delete the exercise).

    1. From the fitbit.com dashboard, click the Log tab.
    2. Click Activities.
    3. Hover your cursor over the activity you want to delete and click the trash can icon.

How do I delete steps and floors?

It's not possible to delete steps and floors, but you can achieve the same result by negating them:

  • Fitbit app for iOS and Android
    1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Exercise tile. This is the tile that says “Track exercise" or shows how many days you've exercised this week.

    2. Tap the stopwatch icon (User-added image).
    3. Tap Log or Log Previous.
    4. Enter Driving as the exercise type and enter the date, start time, and duration.
    5. Tap Add or Log it. Your steps, floors, and calories burned will decrease for the time period you specified.

    1. From the fitbit.com dashboard, click the Log tab.
    2. Click the Activities tab.
    3. Under Log Activities, type in Driving and enter the date, duration, and start time.
    4. Click Log. Your steps, floors, and calories burned will decrease for the time period you specified.

How do I delete personal data from my Fitbit device?

Fitbit uses your height, weight, sex, and age as factors when calculating your estimates for stride length, calorie burn, active minutes, and more.

To delete your personal data from your device, add it as a new device using a different Fitbit account. When the tracker recognizes that it has been paired to a new account, all of the data stored on the device is permanently deleted. How do I delete my greeting?

For instructions on how to delete a greeting, choose a section below:
  • Fitbit App for iOS and Android
    1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon (User-added image) > your device image.
    2. Tap Greeting.
    3. Delete the text in the greeting field. The greeting will disappear from your device the next time you sync.
  • Fitbit.com Dashboard
    1. Log into your fitbit.com dashboard.
    2. Click the gear icon (User-added image). 
    3. Click your device. The Settings page opens.
    4. In the Display settings, turn off the Greeting. The greeting will disappear from your device the next time you sync.

How do I delete my weight logs?

For instructions on how to delete weight logs, choose a section below:
  • Fitbit App for iOS
    1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon (User-added image) > your scale image.
    2. Tap Recent Weigh-Ins.
    3. Swipe left on the log you want to delete, then tap Delete.
  • Fitbit App for Android
    1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon (User-added image) > your scale image.
    2. Tap Recent Weigh-Ins.
    3. Tap the log you want to delete.
    4. Tap the trash can icon.
  • Fitbit App for Windows
    1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon (User-added image) > your scale image.
    2. Tap or click Recent Weigh-Ins.
    3. Tap or click the log you want to delete.
    4. Tap or click Delete This Weigh-In.
  • Fitbit.com Dashboard
    1. From the fitbit.com dashboard, click the Log tab.
    2. Click the Weight tab.
    3. Scroll down to the Measurement History section and click the trash can icon next to the weight that you want to remove.
