How do I track my food with the Fitbit app?

Use a Fitbit food plan to help you achieve and maintain your weight goal. Log your food intake each day to see how many calories you eat versus your estimated calories burned. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

- Tap the Today tab
, and tap your profile picture.
- Under Goals, tap Nutrition & Body.
- Under Nutrition, find the option to start a food plan.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your food plan. If you have an iPhone or iPad, you can set a daily calorie goal without a food plan.

- From the fitbit.com dashboard, click Log at the top, then click Food.
- In the Food Plan section, click Get Started.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your food plan.

A calorie deficit is when you burn more calories than you consume in a day. When you set a weight-loss goal in the Fitbit app, your daily calorie deficit target is determined by the level of intensity you choose for your food plan.

Log your food throughout the day to see your estimated calories eaten versus calories burned and macronutrients breakdown.
