Most Fitbit devices automatically recognize and record high-movement activities through the SmartTrack feature. To start, your device recognizes activities at least 15 minutes long.

On certain devices, see basic stats about your activity, including duration and calories burned, in the Exercise tile

in Fitbit Today

, or sync your device and tap the Exercise tile

in the Fitbit app.
Can I change how my activities are tracked?
Choose which activities your device tracks automatically, or change the amount of time needed to record the activity. For example, choose to turn off automatic tracking for a walk, or to record an outdoor bike ride after 5 minutes.

. - Tap the gear icon
in the top right. - Tap an exercise, and adjust the duration or turn off Auto-recognize.

- From the fitbit.com dashboard, click the gear icon
> your device name. - Under Auto-Exercise Recognition, for each exercise adjust the duration or select Ignored to turn off automatic exercise recognition.
Note that you can change how your activity is labeled in your exercise history. For example, your device might detect a walk, but you can edit your exercise history to record a hike. For more information, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
What are active minutes on my Fitbit device?
Your device awards active minutes
when an activity is more strenuous than a regular walk, which includes everything from a brisk walk to a weight circuit or a run.

What is my Fitbit hourly activity goal?
An hourly activity goal
helps you keep moving throughout the day. To start, your goal is to take at least 250 steps per hour (which equals a few minutes of walking) from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., 7 days a week. You can adjust the hours that you track your goal and receive reminders to move.

What is my weekly exercise goal in the Fitbit app?
A weekly exercise goal help you stay active. The American Heart Association recommendations 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity at least 5 days per week (
source). To start, your goal is 5 days per week, but you can track your goal 1 to 7 days per week. Any exercise that your device records counts toward your goal.

Can I change my activity goal on my Fitbit device?
To start, your primary goal is 10,000 steps per day. When you hit this goal, your device vibrates, and a celebration appears on the screen. Choose to increase or decrease your step goal, or to change your goal to active minutes or calories burned. You can also set goals in other areas such as sleep and hydration.
