How do I manage silent alarms?

A silent alarm uses vibration to gently awake or alert you at the time specified. You can set up to eight silent alarms to occur once or on multiple days of the week. All Fitbit trackers except Fitbit Zip offer silent alarms.

Setting alarms

For instructions on how to set an alarm, choose a section below.

  • Fitbit app for iOS
    1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the + icon.
    2. Tap Set Alarm.
    3. Tap Set a New Alarm.
    4. Select the alarm time and frequency, and don’t forget to save. The app should sync with your tracker immediately.
  • Fitbit app for Android
    1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the + icon.
    2. Tap Set Alarm.
    3. Tap Add a New Alarm or if you have an alarm already set, tap the + icon.
    4. Select the alarm time and frequency, and don’t forget to save. The app should sync with your tracker immediately.
  • Fitbit app for Windows 10
    1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the + icon.
    2. Tap or click Set Alarm.
    3. Tap or click the + icon. 
    4. Select the alarm time and frequency, and don’t forget to save. The app should sync with your tracker immediately.
  • Fitbit.com dashboard
    1. Log into your fitbit.com dashboard.
    2. Click the gear icon in the top right corner and select your tracker.
    3. Under Silent Alarms, click Add Alarm.  
    4. Select the alarm time and frequency. Be sure to enter the alarm time in the format HH:MM.
    5. Click Save. If the entry box turns red, you may have entered your alarm time in an incorrect format. Be sure you include a colon between hours and minutes.
    6. Click the Fitbit Connect icon (located near the date and time on your computer) and select Sync Now to send the alarm to your tracker.

Responding to alarms on your tracker

Your tracker will vibrate and light up when a silent alarm goes off. This notification repeats several times or until dismissed. If you don't dismiss an alarm, it goes off again in 9 minutes.

To dismiss an alarm:

  • Fitbit Alta—Double tap the tracker.
  • Fitbit Blaze—Tap the on-screen check mark or press the Select button (lower right). You can also snooze Blaze for nine minutes. Tap the on-screen Snooze indicator (zzz) or press the Action button (upper right).
  • Fitbit Charge 2—Press the button or walk 50 steps.
  • Fitbit Charge, Fitbit Charge HR, Fitbit One, and Fitbit Force—Press the button.
  • Fitbit Flex—Double-tap the tracker. You'll know the alarm is dismissed when the middle light appears and slowly fades.
  • Fitbit Flex 2—Double-tap the tracker or walk 50 steps.
  • Fitbit Surge—Press the button next to the Dismiss indicator (x).  You can also snooze Surge for nine minutes. Press the button next to the indicator (zz).

Deleting or disabling silent alarms

  • Fitbit app for iOS
    1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the + icon.
    2. Tap Set Alarm.
    3. Tap the alarm you want to delete and tap Delete Alarm
    4. Sync your tracker to remove the alarm.
  • Fitbit app for Android
    1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the menu icon in the top left corner.
    2. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the + icon.
    3. Tap Set Alarm.
    4. Press and hold on the alarm you want to delete.
    5. Tap Delete alarm
    6. Sync your tracker to remove the alarm.
  • Fitbit app for Windows 10
    1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the + icon.
    2. Tap or click Set Alarm.
    3. Tap or click and hold until you you see a button to delete the alarm.
    4. Tap or click Delete.  
    5. Sync your tracker to remove the alarm.
  • Fitbit.com dashboard
    1. Log into your fitbit.com dashboard.
    2. Click the gear icon in the top right corner and select your tracker.
    3. Under Silent Alarms, find the alarm you want to delete.
    4. Tap the pencil icon next to the alarm.
    5. Click Delete alarm.
    6. Sync your tracker to remove the alarm.

On Blaze, Charge 2, and Surge, you can disable an alarm directly from the tracker screen. Disabled alarms are not deleted but won't go off unless re-enabled.
