How do I manage silent alarms on my Fitbit device?

A silent alarm uses vibration to gently awake or alert you at the time specified. Set up to 8 silent alarms to occur once or on multiple days of the week. All Fitbit devices except Fitbit Zip offer silent alarms.

Set an Alarm

For instructions on how to set an alarm, choose your device.
  • Trackers
    • Fitbit app for iOS and Android

      From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the + icon > Set Alarm > Set a New Alarm.

      Select the alarm time and frequency, and don't forget to save. The app should sync with your tracker immediately.
    • Fitbit app for Windows 10

      From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the + icon >  Set Alarm > + icon.

    • Fitbit.com dashboard
      1. Log into your fitbit.com dashboard.
      2. Click the gear icon in the top right and click your device image. 
      3. Under Silent Alarms, click Add Alarm.  
      4. Select the alarm time and frequency. Be sure to enter the alarm time in the format HH:MM.
      5. Click Save. If the entry box turns red, you may have entered your alarm time in an incorrect format. Be sure you include a colon between hours and minutes.
      6. Click the Fitbit Connect icon (User-added image) and select Sync Now to send the alarm to your tracker.
  • Watches
    1. On your watch, open Alarms. You’ll see your next scheduled alarm (if you set one) and the option to set a new alarm.
    2. Tap + New Alarm. Scroll down to see this option if you’ve already created multiple alarms.
    3. Tap 12:00 and then scroll to set the alarm time. Be sure to set am or pm.
    4. Press the back button on your tracker and then scroll down to set the frequency.
    5. Press the back button to see your alarms. To disable an alarm, tap it and then tap Off. To delete an alarm, see the instructions below.

Respond to Alarms

Your device will vibrate and light up when a silent alarm goes off. This notification repeats several times or until dismissed. If you don't dismiss an alarm, it goes off again in 9 minutes.
The alarm on most Fitbit devices turns off when you walk 50 steps.
You can also press the button on your device to dismiss an alarm. For Fitbit Alta, Fitbit Alta HR, Fitbit Flex, Fitbit Flex 2, double-tap the tracker to dismiss an alarm.

Delete or Disable Alarms

For instructions on how to delete an alarm, choose your device. 

On select Fitbit devices, you can disable an alarm from the device's screen. Disabled alarms are not deleted but won't go off unless re-enabled. 
  •  Trackers
    • Fitbit app

      From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the + icon > Set Alarm > select the alarm and delete it.

      Sync your tracker to remove the alarm.
    • Fitbit.com dashboard
      1. Log into your fitbit.com dashboard.
      2. Click the gear icon (User-added image) in the top right and click your device image. 
      3. Under Silent Alarms, find the alarm you want to delete. 
      4. Click the pencil icon next to the alarm.
      5. Click Delete Alarm.
      6. Click the Fitbit Connect icon (User-added image) and select Sync Now to remove the alarm from your tracker.
  • Watches

    Disable and delete alarms on your device's screen. To delete an alarm, open Alarms > tap the alarm > Remove.
