Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?

Because battery life is affected by use and other settings, actual results may vary.

We recommend that you use the charging cable that came with your device. Note that after several hundred charge cycles, your device may need to be charged more often.

*Using features such as always-on display and GPS require more frequent charging.

• If you turn on always-on display:
  • Charge 5, Inspire 3, Sense 2, Versa 2, and Versa 4 have a battery life of up to 3 days.
  • Luxe, Sense, and Versa 3 have a battery life of up to 2 days.
• If you use built-in GPS regularly:
  • Charge 4 and Charge 5 have a battery life of up to 4 days. If you use built-in GPS continuously, Charge 4 and Charge 5 have a battery life of up to 5 hours,
  • Ionic has a battery life of up to 10 hours.
  • Sense, Sense 2, Versa 3, and Versa 4 have a battery life of up to 12 hours.

• Keep in mind that it can take up to 2 hours to charge your device to 100%. Avoid charging your device in extreme cold or heat—below 32°F and above 113° F (below 0° C and above 45° C). For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
• Prevent the screen from turning on each time you turn your wrist. If you move your hands a lot, your device’s screen may turn on more often than you realize. For more information, see How do I see the time on my Fitbit device?
• Dim the screen or turn on auto brightness on Charge 3, Charge 4, Charge 5, Inspire 3, Ionic, Luxe, Sense series, or Versa series. In the Settings app on your device, find the brightness setting, and tap to change it.
• Turn off the always-on display setting on Charge 5, Inspire 3, Luxe, Sense, Sense 2, Versa 2, Versa 3, and Versa 4. For more information, see How do I see the time on my Fitbit device?
• On certain Fitbit devices, you can change your Screen Timeout setting to adjust the amount of time your screen stays on. For more information, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device?
• Use phone GPS on Charge 4 and Charge 5 to allow the tracker to connect to your nearby phone’s GPS sensors. For more information, see How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?
• Turn off the Button Lock setting on Inspire 2 and Inspire 3. For more information, see How do I navigate my Fitbit device?

• Reduce your use of music control, music apps, on-wrist calls, contactless payments, and connected or built-in GPS.

If you want to store your device for several weeks or months, charge it to 100%, then turn off the device to avoid additional battery use. Note that you can only turn off certain Fitbit devices. For trackers, charge the device to 100% at least once every 6 months; for watches, charge the device to 100% at least once per year.

Store your device in a cool, moisture-free place.
