How do I change the wristband on my Fitbit device?

Select Fitbit devices can be customized with interchangeable wristbands. 
Choose your device for more information.

Fitbit Ace, Fitbit Alta and Fitbit Alta HR have two detachable bands (top and bottom) that you can replace with accessory bands sold separately. To remove and replace a band:

  1. Turn over your tracker and find the band latches—there’s one on each end where the band meets the frame.
  2. To release a latch, press down on the flat metal button on the strap.

  3. Slide the band up to release it from the tracker.

  4. Repeat on the other side. If you’re having trouble or if it feels stuck, gently move the band back and forth to release it.
  5. To attach a band, slide it down on the end of the tracker until you feel it snap into place.

Fitbit Blaze has detachable top and bottom wristbands that you can replace with accessory bands sold separately. To remove and replace a band:

  1. Place Blaze facedown on a flat, smooth surface. You can tell it is face down when two buttons are on the left and one button is on the right.
  2. On either side (top or bottom), find the switch where the band meets the frame.
  3. Use your finger or nail to unlock the switch by gently sliding it to the opposite end. Pull the band away from the frame.

  4. Grasp the band you want to attach, making sure you choose the right one (top or bottom). The top band has a watch buckle at the end of it. The bottom band has notches.
  5. To attach the band, find the pin opposite the removal switch and slide it into the hole in the frame.
  6. Pull the switch while sliding the band into place, then release the switch to lock the band into the frame.
  7. Repeat on the other side.

Fitbit Charge 2 and Fitbit Charge 3 have two detachable bands (top and bottom) that you can replace with accessory bands sold separately. To remove and replace the bands on both sides:

  1. Turn over your tracker and locate the two band latches—there’s one on each end where the band meets the frame.
  2. To release a latch, press down on the flat button on the strap.​

  3. Gently pull the band away from the tracker to release it.​

  4. Remove the band on the other side. If you’re having trouble or if it feels stuck, gently move the band back and forth to release it.
  5. To attach a band, slide it on the end of the tracker until you feel it snap into place, then repeat on the other side. If you have trouble attaching the band or if it feels loose, gently move the band back and forth to make sure it is attached to the tracker.

Fitbit Flex comes with a large and a small wristband. If you choose the small wristband, you’ll need to remove the clasp from the large wristband and put it into the small wristband:

  1. Push the clasp out with one thumb from the inside of the wristband.
  2. Pull out the clasp.
  3. Insert the clasp into the small wristband by pressing a few times with both thumbs to ensure that the clasp is flat and in line with the wristband.

  4. If there is a bulge on the inside of the band between the two inside prongs of the clasp, find a small object like a credit card to push it flat.

To put the pebble in a wristband, hold the pebble in your hand with the grey arrow facing up. Insert this end into the wristband, with the arrow pointing toward the holes in the wristband.

Fitbit Flex 2 comes with a large and a small wristband. If you choose the large wristband, you’ll need to remove the clasp from the small wristband and put it into the large wristband:

  1. Push the clasp out from the inside of the wristband. You may find it helpful to first remove the square peg and then the round peg.
  2. Pull out the clasp.
  3. Insert the clasp into another wristband by lining up the pegs with their matching holes and pressing firmly until both pegs snap into place.

  4. If there is a bulge on the inside of the band, find a small object like a credit card to push it flat.

To put the pebble into a wristband, hold it in your hand with the back facing up. Find the dot on the back of the pebble and insert that end where you see a corresponding dot on the wristband.

Ionic has two detachable bands (top and bottom) that you can replace with accessory bands sold separately. To remove and replace a band:

  1. Turn Ionic over and find the band latches—there’s one on each end where the band meets the frame. 
  2. To release the latch, press down on the flat metal button on the strap.

  3. Gently pull the band away from the watch to release it.

  4. Repeat on the other side. If you have trouble removing the band or if it feels stuck, gently move the band back and forth to release it.
  5. To attach a wristband, press it into the end of the watch until you feel it snap into place. The band with the clasp attaches to the top of the watch.

Fitbit Versa has two detachable bands (top and bottom) that you can replace with accessory bands sold separately. Note that to switch between large and small bands, only the bottom band needs to be replaced.

To remove and replace a band:

  1. Turn Versa over and find the quick release lever—there’s one on each end where the band meets the frame. 
  2. To release the band, push the quick-release lever inward.

  3. Gently pull the band away from the watch to release it.

  4. Repeat on the other side.
  5. To attach a wristband, slide the pin (the side opposite the quick-release lever) into the notch on the watch. The band with the clasp attaches to the top of the watch.

  6. While pressing the quick-release lever inward, slide the other end of the band into place.

  7. When both ends of the pin are inserted, release the quick-release lever.
