What can I share with Fitbit friends?

You can share profile information, average daily step count, personal stats, badges, and more with your Fitbit friends. For more information on how to control what information you share from your profile, see How do I manage my Fitbit profile?

What can I share with anyone?

From the Fitbit app, you can share many personal accomplishments including your badges, trophies, daily stats, exercise, logged foods, hourly activity, sleep logs, and progress toward a weight goal. From the Fitbit Coach app, you can share workout reports and badges.

How do I share Fitbit stats and accomplishments?

To share stats and accomplishments:
  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard:
    • To share an accomplishment, tap or click the tile that contains the accomplishment you'd like to share.
    • To share badges and trophies, tap or click the Account icon (User-added image), and then tap or click your name.
  2. Tap or click the activity, logged record, or achievement you want to share. You’ll see the details for that accomplishment.
  3. Tap or click the share icon:

  4. Some accomplishments have multiple background options to choose from. If available, you can choose a background, take a new photo, or select a photo from your library.
  5. Tap or click Share.
  6. Compose your message and tap or click Next or the arrow icon.
  7. Choose a group on the Fitbit community where you want to share the post. To choose a different sharing method, tap or click the option to share the post outside of Fitbit.
You can also share the all-day stats from your Fitbit dashboard:
  1. Tap or click the share icon on your dashboard:

  2. You'll see a snapshot of your dashboard and background options below. Choose a background, take a new photo, or select a photo from your library.
  3. Tap or click Share.
  4. Compose your message and tap or click Next or the arrow icon.
  5. Choose a group on the Fitbit community where you want to share the post. To choose a different sharing method, tap or click the option to share the post outside of Fitbit.

How do I share accomplishments from the Fitbit Coach app?

To share accomplishments:
  1. From your profile in the Fitbit Coach app, tap or click Sessions or Badges.
  2. Tap or click the accomplishment you would like to share.
  3. Tap or click the share icon (app) or Copy button (website):

Which stats are included?

The stats shown depend on the type of accomplishment you choose to share, as well as what information your Fitbit device can detect. For example:
  • If you share a run, walk, or hike using GPS, the stats include the distance, duration, and your pace. Certain backgrounds also include a map of your route, your heart rate, steps, calories burned, and active minutes.
  • If you share a food log, it includes the foods you ate, the calorie total, and the macronutrient breakdown.
  • If you share a sleep log, it includes your sleep schedule, time spent asleep, and sleep stages (if applicable).

Can I share any photo?

Remember that any photo shared on a social network is subject to that company’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
