The Fitbit community in the Fitbit app is your home for fitness-related news, local events, connecting with friends, and discovering groups.

How do I join the Fitbit community?

  1. Tap the Community tab User-added image > Get Started.
  2. Select open groups you want to join, then tap Done. You can now post, connect with friends, and join groups in the Fitbit community.
Note that the first time you interact with a community group or post, you'll receive a prompt to verify your email address. Follow the on-screen instructions, then return to the Fitbit app to participate in the Fitbit community.

How do I join Fitbit community groups?

To join an open group:
  1. Tap the Community tab User-added image.
  2. At the top, tap Groups > Discover More Groups.
  3. Find groups that match your interests and tap Join.

How do I leave Fitbit community groups?

  1. From the group's main page, tap the three dots.
  2. Tap Leave Group.

How do I post content to the Fitbit community?

Share information, photos, and achievements with a group or with all your Fitbit friends"
  1. Tap the Community tab User-added image  > Feed.
  2. Find the option to create your post.
  3. Type your text, or select an achievement to share.
  4. Tap Next and select the users or group that you want to see your post.
  5. Tap Post.

How do I delete a Fitbit community post?

  • iPhones, iPads & Android phones
  1. Tap the Today tab User-added image, and tap your profile picture. 
  2. Tap your name to view your profile.
  3. Scroll down to Posts and tap the three dots in the corner of the post you want to delete.
  4. Tap Delete and confirm you want to delete the post.
  • Windows 10 devices
  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Community tab > Feed.
  2. Find the post you want to delete, and tap the three dots in the corner of the post.
  3. Tap Delete and confirm you want to delete the post.

How do I delete a comment on Fitbit community?

  • iPhones & iPads—swipe left on the comment, then tap Delete.
  • Android phones—press and hold on the comment, then tap Delete This Comment.

How do I share a Fitbit community post on other social media?

To share your post outside of the Fitbit community:
  1. Tap the Community tab User-added image > Feed.
  2. Find the option to create your post.
  3. Type your text, or select an achievement to share.
  4. Tap Next > Share elsewhere.
  5. Choose an app from your phone to share your post.

How do I cheer and comment on Fitbit community posts?

To encourage a Fitbit friend, tap Cheer at the bottom of their post. 

To comment on posts:
  1. At the bottom of a post, tap Comment.
  2. Write a comment, then tap Send.

How do I mention someone in a Fitbit community post or comment?

You can only mention your friends on your posts. When you comment on a public post, you can mention other community members who commented on the same post. To receive notifications about a post, you must be the original poster or leave a comment.

To mention a friend or other community member in a post or comment:
  1. At the bottom of a post, tap Comment.
  2. Type your comment. To mention someone, type the @ symbol or their name.
  3. Choose the person you want to mention.
  4. Tap Send.
Note the following about mentioning friends in a post or comment:
  • You're limited to 5 mentions per post or comment
  • You can't mention anyone who blocked you
  • You can't mention yourself

How do I add or delete friends in the Fitbit community?

To add a friend:
  1. Tap the Community tab User-added image  > Friends.
  2. Tap the Add Friend icon.
  3. Choose a method to find friends.
  4. Tap the Add Friend icon next to the name or email address of the friend you want to add.
You can also send a friend request to people you find in the Fitbit community. On the Community tab, tap a person's profile picture to view their profile > Add Friend.

To delete a friend:
  1. Tap the Community tab User-added image > Friends.
  2. Tap the friend you want to delete.
  3. Tap the three dots > Remove a Friend.

How do I send private messages in the Fitbit community?

  1. Tap the Community tab User-added image  > Friends.
  2. Tap the friend you want to send a private message to.
  3. Tap Message.
  4. Type your message, then tap Send.

How do I see notifications about Fitbit community posts and messages?

The Notifications tab in the Fitbit app shows your private messages, updates about your Fitbit activity, and comments on your posts in the community. 

To see your notifications:
  1. Tap the Today tab User-added image, then tap the inbox icon User-added image in the top right. 
  2. Tap Notifications to see who cheered your post, who commented on your post, and your progress on your Fitbit goals.
  3. Tap Messages to see your private messages.

How do I report Fitbit community posts, users, and groups?

Let us know when you see something that you think isn't appropriate for our community. We review reported posts, comments, and profiles as quickly as possible to determine if a user broke community guidelines.

To report a post:
  1. Tap the three dots in the corner of the post you want to report.
  2. Tap Report Post.
  3. Select your reason for reporting the post, then tap Send Feedback.
To report a comment:
  1. Find the comment you want to report:
  • iPhones and iPads: swipe left on the comment, then tap Report.
  • Android phones: press and hold on the comment, then tap Report This Comment.
  • Windows 10 devices: press and hold on the comment, then tap Report.
  1. Select your reason for reporting the post, then tap Send Feedback.
To report a user in the Fitbit community:
  1. From their profile, tap the three dots.
  2. Tap Report Profile.
  3. Select your reason for reporting the user, then tap Send Feedback.
To report a group in the Fitbit community:
  1. From the group page, tap the three dots.
  2. Tap Report Group.
  3. Select your reason for reporting the group, then tap Send Feedback.
Reporting a user is the best way to keep the Fitbit community safe. Targeting and sharing a suspicious profile with the community is against the Community Guidelines.

How do I block users in the Fitbit community?

To block users from seeing your posts or information:
  1. When you see a post written by a user you want to block, tap the user's name to see their profile.
  2. Tap the three dots > Block User or block friend
If you want to unblock a user, go to Account > Blocked Users and select the user you want to unblock.

Why do I see sponsored posts in my Fitbit community group?

Sometimes you may see sponsored content from our partners related to health and wellness services that are relevant to your health and fitness goals. To make sure sponsored content is relevant to community members, we choose groups with similar interests for content to appear in.

Why can't I verify my email address?

If you don’t see the email to verify your Fitbit account, check your spam folder. If you didn’t receive the email, contact Customer Support

Fitbit is committed to continuously improving the safety and security of our community, and thoroughly investigates and takes action on all reported posts, comments, and profiles. Keep in mind that while some accounts may seem suspect, our moderators may determine that reported users haven't broken any guidelines.

We encourage community members to report specific profiles or content that violates our guidelines as we continue to moderate activity and look for new ways to ensure the best possible community experience.
