What should I know about the Fitbit Community?

- Tap the Community tab
Get Started.
- Select open groups you want to join, then tap Done. You can now post, connect with friends, and join groups in the Fitbit community.
Note that the first time you interact with a community group or post, you'll receive a prompt to verify your email address. Follow the on-screen instructions, then return to the Fitbit app to participate in the Fitbit community.

To join an open group:
- Tap the Community tab

- At the top, tap Groups
Discover More Groups.
- Find groups that match your interests and tap Join.

- From the group's main page, tap the three dots.
- Tap Leave Group.

Share information, photos, and achievements with a group or with all your Fitbit friends.
- Tap the Community tab
Feed.
- Find the option to create your post.
- Type your text, or select an achievement to share.
- Tap Next and select the users or group that you want to see your post.
- Tap Post.

- Tap the Today tab
, and tap your profile picture.
- Tap your name to view your profile.
- Scroll down to Posts and tap the three dots in the corner of the post you want to delete.
- Tap Delete and confirm you want to delete the post.

- iPhones & iPads—swipe left on the comment, then tap Delete.
- Android phones—press and hold on the comment, then tap Delete This Comment.

To share your post outside of the Fitbit community:
- Tap the Community tab
Feed.
- Find the option to create your post.
- Type your text, or select an achievement to share.
- Tap Next
Share elsewhere.
- Choose an app from your phone to share your post.

To encourage a Fitbit friend, tap Cheer at the bottom of their post.
To comment on posts:
- At the bottom of a post, tap Comment.
- Write a comment, then tap Send.

You can only mention your friends on your posts. When you comment on a public post, you can mention other community members who commented on the same post. To receive notifications about a post, you must be the original poster or leave a comment.
To mention a friend or other community member in a post or comment:
- At the bottom of a post, tap Comment.
- Type your comment. To mention someone, type the @ symbol or their name.
- Choose the person you want to mention.
- Tap Send.
Note the following about mentioning friends in a post or comment:
- You're limited to 5 mentions per post or comment
- You can't mention anyone who blocked you
- You can't mention yourself

To add a friend:
- Tap the Community tab
Friends.
- Tap the Add Friend icon.
- Choose a method to find friends.
- Tap the Add Friend icon next to the name or email address of the friend you want to add.
You can also send a friend request to people you find in the Fitbit community. On the Community tab, tap a person's profile picture to view their profile Add Friend.
To delete a friend:
- Tap the Community tab
Friends.
- Tap the friend you want to delete.
- Tap the three dots
Remove a Friend.

You can send private messages to other Fitbit community members that can’t be seen by other members, but may be reviewed by our moderators, as part of our efforts to ensure compliance with our community guidelines.
- Tap the Community tab
Friends.
- Tap the friend you want to send a private message to.
- Tap Message.
- Type your message, then tap Send.
To delete a message from your view, press and hold on the message and tap Delete. Note that your friend can still see the message.

See up to 100 of your latest notifications in the Fitbit app, including private messages, updates about your Fitbit activity, and comments on your posts in the community.
- Tap the Today tab
, then tap the inbox icon
in the top right.
- Tap Notifications to see who cheered your post, who commented on your post, and your progress on your Fitbit goals.
- Tap Messages to see your private messages.
Note: To receive notifications about activity on your Fitbit community posts and new messages, make sure you turn on Messages notifications in your push notifications settings. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab

Let us know when you see something that you think isn't appropriate for our community. We review reported posts, comments, and profiles as quickly as possible to determine if a user broke community guidelines.
To report a post:
- Tap the 3 dots in the corner of the post you want to report.
- Tap Report Post.
- Select your reason for reporting the post, then tap Send Feedback.
To report a comment:
- Find the comment you want to report:
- iPhones and iPads: swipe left on the comment, then tap Report.
- Android phones: press and hold on the comment, then tap Report This Comment
- Select your reason for reporting the post, then tap Send Feedback.
To report a user in the Fitbit community:
- From their profile, tap the 3 dots.
- Tap Report Profile.
- Select your reason for reporting the user, then tap Send Feedback.
To report a group in the Fitbit community:
- From the group page, tap the 3 dots.
- Tap Report Group.
- Select your reason for reporting the group, then tap Send Feedback.
Reporting a user is the best way to keep the Fitbit community safe. Targeting and sharing a suspicious profile with the community is against the Community Guidelines.

To block users from seeing your posts or information:
- When you see a post written by a user you want to block, tap the user's name to see their profile.
- Tap the three dots
Block User or block friend.
If you want to unblock a user, go to account Blocked Users and select the user you want to unblock.

Sometimes you may see sponsored content from our partners related to health and wellness services that are relevant to your health and fitness goals. To make sure sponsored content is relevant to community members, we choose groups with similar interests for content to appear in.

If you don’t see the email to verify your Fitbit account, check your spam folder. If you didn’t receive the email, contact Customer Support.

Fitbit is committed to continuously improving the safety and security of our community, and in order to do so, we work to investigate and take action on posts, comments, messages and account profiles that violate our guidelines. Keep in mind that while some accounts may seem suspect, our moderators may determine that their actions haven't broken any guidelines.
We encourage community members to report specific account profiles or content that you believe violate our guidelines to help us in our effort to ensure the best possible community experience.
