Is my device compatible with Fitbit Coach?

  • Fitbit Coach app
    The Fitbit Coach app is available on these devices:
    • iPhones and iPads, and Android phones and tablets.
    • Windows 10 computers, phones, and tablets
    • Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X
    Requirements
    • Constant internet connection. We recommend using Wi-Fi instead of your cellular data.
    • 1GB of free space.
    • 4GB RAM on computers.
  • Fitbit Coach website
    Fitbit Coach is available at coach.fitbit.com on computers with:
    • 2 GB RAM
    • A 2 GHz processor
    • Google Chrome (recommended), Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge
    • A constant internet connection

How do I purchase Fitbit Coach Premium?

Purchase a Fitbit Premium subscription in the Fitbit app to access Fitbit Coach Premium workouts. Fitbit Premium is currently available in English, and is available for purchase in certain regions, with more languages and regions coming soon. If Fitbit Premium isn't currently available in your location, you can download the Fitbit Coach app from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Microsoft Store for free. Fitbit Coach workouts can also be accessed at coach.fitbit.com. Basic Fitbit Coach members receive access to 1 personalized program and certain audio and video workouts. You must have a Fitbit Coach Premium subscription to unlock more programs, unlimited workouts, and additional features. 

Do I need a Fitbit device to use Fitbit Coach?

For the best experience, we recommend using Fitbit Coach with your Fitbit device, but you can complete workouts without a device. If you don’t have a Fitbit account, you’ll be prompted to create one when you open Fitbit Coach for the first time. By connecting a Fitbit account with Fitbit Coach, workouts show up automatically in your exercise history.

Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Versa, and Fitbit Versa 2 customers can access certain workouts from their watch. For more information, see How do I use the Coach app on my watch?

How do I get started with Fitbit Coach?

  1. Download the Fitbit Coach app from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Microsoft Store, or go to coach.fitbit.com and create your Fitbit account.
  2. Choose your trainer and take the Fit Test. Rate the difficulty of each move to help personalize your workouts.
  3. After you complete the Fit Test, choose a program to start. For more information, see What are Fitbit Coach Programs?

You can access additional audio and video workouts outside of your program. Note that these workouts don’t adapt to feedback, so the level of difficulty may not match your experience level.

How do I work out with Fitbit Coach?

To use the Fitbit Coach app on your phone or tablet:
  1. In the Fitbit Coach app, tap the Workouts tab. 
  2. Tap a workout > Choose Session to download the workout.
  3. After the workout downloads, tap Start Session to begin. 
Note that audio workouts are only available in the Fitbit Coach app.

What are Fitbit Coach programs?

Fitbit Coach programs are a series of workouts tailored to your fitness level and ability. 

Basic members have access to the Get Moving program and can complete 1 personalized workout each week. Premium subscribers have 3 additional programs to choose from and receive unlimited personalized workouts. You can change your program at any time.

How do I connect other apps with my Fitbit Coach account?

Fitbit Coach connects with Facebook and Apple Health so you can track your progress and share your accomplishments with friends. 
  • Fitbit Coach App
    1. In the Fitbit Coach app, tap Profile  > Settings > Services.
    2. Choose the app you want to connect to Fitbit Coach, and follow the on-screen instructions to link your accounts.

    1. Log in to your account at coach.fitbit.com.
    2. Click your name in the navigation bar at the top of the screen.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Scroll down to Connected Accounts.
    5. Click Connect on the app you want to connect to Fitbit Coach, and follow the on-screen instructions to link your accounts.

How do I modify my workouts?

After each move or workout, you’re asked to rate the level of difficulty. Fitbit Coach tailors the difficulty and intensity of future workouts based on your feedback. Choose to skip or redo a particular move:
  • Fitbit Coach App
    To skip a move, tap the screen (press the A button on Xbox) and press the skip icon User-added image. To restart a move, tap the back icon User-added image.
  • Fitbit Coach Website
    To skip a move, move your cursor onto the window if you don't see the navigation bar at the bottom, and click the skip icon User-added image. To restart a move, click the back icon User-added image.

How do I turn off move feedback in the Fitbit Coach app?

You can provide feedback on the difficulty of exercises as you go, or rate every exercise at the end of your workout. 

To rate the exercises at the end of your workout:

  1. In the Fitbit Coach app, tap Profile  > Settings  > Personal Settings.
  2. Tap Remove Move Feedback to change the setting.

How can I stream Fitbit Coach workouts to my TV?

Stream your Fitbit Coach workout from your phone to a TV:
  • iPhones and iPads
    Use AirPlay Mirroring to stream content to your Apple TV or other AirPlay-enabled device. To learn more, see Apple’s help article.
  • Android phone
    Use Chromecast to play your workout on a TV. To learn more, see Google’s help article.
  • Windows 10 device
    Use Miracast to play your workout on a TV or other supported device. To learn more, see Microsoft's help article.

How do I change the music or audio during a workout?

Customize the music, coaching volume, and rep ticks for your workouts.

Music

Fitbit Coach has music designed specifically for your workouts. Choose to change the music:
  • iPhones and iPads
    1. From the workout preview screen, tap the music icon User-added image.
    2. Choose from the Premium Music Stations (Premium subscribers only) or select Coaching Only if you want to listen to music from a different app.
    3. Open the music app, start your music, and return to the Fitbit Coach app.
  • Android phone
    1. From the workout preview screen, tap the music icon User-added image.
    2. Choose from the Premium Music Stations (Premium subscribers only) or tap Other  > Mute Radio if you want to listen to music from a different app.
    3. Open the music app, start your music, and return to the Fitbit Coach app.
  • Windows 10 devices or Xbox
    1. From the workout preview screen, select the music icon User-added image.
    2. Choose from the Premium Music Stations (Premium subscribers only) or press the pause button if you want to listen to music from a different source.
    3. Start your music, and resume your Fitbit Coach workout.
  • Fitbit Coach Website
    1. While in a workout, click the name of the song playing in the upper-right corner.
    2. Choose from the Premium Music Stations (Premium subscribers only) or click the pause button if you want to listen to music from a different source.
    3. Start your music, and resume your Fitbit Coach workout.

Rep Ticks

Rep ticks can help keep you on pace. To start, rep ticks are turned on; turn them off in the app:
  • iPhones and iPads
    1. In the Fitbit Coach app, tap Profile  > Settings  > Personal Settings.
    2. Tap Play rep ticks to change the setting.
  • Android phone
    1. Tap Profile.
    2. Tap the gear icon User-added image.
    3. Tap Rep Ticks to change the setting.
  • Windows 10 devices or Xbox
    1. Select the settings icon User-added image.
    2. Select Personal Settings.
    3. Turn Rep ticks on or off.
  • Fitbit Coach Website
    1. Log in to your account at coach.fitbit.com.
    2. Click your name in the navigation bar at the top of the screen.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Scroll down to Sessions.
    5. Turn Rep ticks on or off.

What is a Fitbit Coach Premium subscription?

With your Fitbit Coach Premium subscription, access unlimited personalized workouts, a full library of programs and workouts, and additional features. For more information, see How do I purchase, manage, or cancel a Fitbit Coach Premium subscription?

If Fitbit Premium is available in your region, you automatically have access to all Fitbit Coach Premium workouts. For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit Premium?

How do I earn badges with Fitbit Coach?

Earn badges for your progress and achievements. See your badges from your profile. Tap a badge to learn more about it or share it with your friends. Note that you can't view badges from the Windows 10 or Xbox app.

How do I share accomplishments from the Fitbit Coach app?

  • Fitbit Coach app
    1. From your profile, tap Workouts or Badges.
    2. Tap the accomplishment you want to share.
    3. Tap Share Your Workout.

    1. From your profile, click Session or Badge.
    2. Click the accomplishment you want to share. 
    3. Click Copy, then share your link.
