Beginning with Fitbit app version 2.92 for iPhones and Android phones, we’re testing a new and improved Fitbit app experience. If you’re invited to opt in, you can see the new design and try our new app experience to access all your stats and information in a way that’s more dynamic, integrated, and highly personalized.

What is the new Fitbit app experience? 

The new Fitbit app design delivers a more personalized experience to give you a deeper understanding of your stats and progress while providing relevant insights to help you reach your goals. Customize the app to see the stats that matter most to you. 

The new Fitbit app design features 3 tabs: Today, Discover, and Community. 

The tabs make it easy for you to see a full picture of your stats, discover new experiences, and connect with the global Fitbit health and fitness community:

Today

See your stats, including steps, calories burned, sleep, exercise, and more. Tap a stat to see more details. Choose which stats you see to customize your experience and focus on the goals you most care about.

Discover

Find features and programs available through Fitbit, including health and wellness features, available stats, challenges, and premium programs like Fitbit Coach.

Community

Access the Fitbit community where you can join groups, find your friends, contribute to the Fitbit social feed, and more. 


How do I get the new Fitbit app experience? 

If you see the screen below, tap Let’s Go get the new Fitbit app experience. Note that you must have version 2.92 or later of the Fitbit app.

To update the Fitbit app, follow the instructions in About the Fitbit app.

Which version of the Fitbit app do I have?

  1. Tap the Today tab User-added image , then tap your profile picture.
  2. Scroll down and tap Help. The app version is at the top of the screen.

How do I see my stats? 

See your daily stats at the top of the Today tab. Daily stats include steps, distance, calories burned, and more. Below your activity stats, find your other stats, such as sleep, how many days you exercised this week, weight, and more. Tap a stat to see more details and view your history.

How do I remove or rearrange tiles on my Fitbit app dashboard?

To rearrange your tiles:

  1. Tap the Today tab User-added image, and tap Edit
  2. Tap and hold the User-added image icon next to the tile you want to move, and drag it to a new position.
  3. Tap Save.


To hide tiles and stats:

  1. Tap the Today tab User-added image, and tap Edit
  2. Hide activity stats under Manage Activity Items. Tap the check mark next to the stat you want to hide from your view. 
  3. Hide other stats under Manage Today Items. Tap the red minus icon User-added image > Remove to hide the stat from your view. 
  4. Tap Save.

Note that you can choose to hide all your daily stats. Tap the Today tab > Edit > Hide all > Save.

How do I add tiles to my Fitbit app dashboard?

  1. Tap the Discover tab User-added image, and tap Health and Wellness Stats.
  2. Tap the stat you want to add, and tap Add to Today.

How do I log stats?

  1. Tap the Today tab, and tap the User-added image icon next to the stat you want to log.
  2. Add your information, and tap Save.

Where is the account icon in the new Fitbit app experience?

Access your account settings and devices with the new profile picture icon instead of the account icon User-added image. Find your profile picture in the top left of the Today tab. If you already added a profile image, you’ll see your picture. If you don’t have a profile image, you’ll see an icon with an outline of a person User-added image. To add a profile photo, see the instructions below.

How do I see my messages and notifications? 

To see your messages and notifications, tap the inbox icon  User-added image in the top right > Notifications or Messages. Tap Close to exit. A pink dot on the icon indicates you have unread notifications or messages.

Where can I find my devices and settings? 

Tap the Today tab User-added image, and tap your profile picture. Your device is listed at the top. Tap your device image to open your device settings, or scroll down for your account settings.

What are the messages at the top of the Today tab?

Occasionally, you’ll receive messages based on your Fitbit data giving you insight into different aspects of your health and wellness. These messages may be about general wellness, activity, nutrition, mindfulness, sleep patterns, and more.

Tap the X in the top right to dismiss a message. Provide feedback on a message by tapping the thumbs up icon User-added image or the thumbs down icon User-added image.


How do I connect with friends? 

In countries where the Fitbit community is available, open the Fitbit app and tap the Community tab User-added image at the bottom right. Add friends, join groups, learn about fitness-related news, and more. For more information, see What should I know about the Fitbit Community? and How do I connect with friends on Fitbit?
 

How do I share my stats and accomplishments from the Fitbit app? 

Share stats and accomplishments including:

  • Badges and trophies
  • Daily stats 
  • Exercise
  • Logged foods
  • Hourly activity
  • Sleep logs
  • Progress toward a weight goal

To share a stat, accomplishment, badge, or trophy: 

  1. From the Today tab User-added image in the Fitbit app:
    • To share an accomplishment, tap the tile that has the accomplishment you want to share.
    • To share a badge or trophy, tap your profile picture > your name > Badges and Trophies
  2. Tap the achievement, log, badge, or trophy you want to share, then tap Share or the share icon:

  1. Customize your post, and tap Share (on Android phones, tap Next).
  2. Write your message, and tap Next.
  3. Choose a group in the Fitbit community where you want to share your post, and tap Post. To share the post outside of the Fitbit community, tap Share elsewhere.

To share your stats on the Today tab: 

  1. On the Today tab User-added image in the Fitbit app, tap the share icon:

  2. Write your message, and tap Next.
  3. Choose a group in the Fitbit community where you want to share your post, and tap Post. To share the post outside of the Fitbit community, tap Share elsewhere.

How do I add or change my profile photo? 

  1. Tap the Today tab User-added image, and tap your profile picture > your name. 
  2. Tap the camera icon User-added image on your profile image, and take a new photo or choose an existing photo from your phone’s photo library.

How do I see my exercise history?

Tap the Today tab User-added image, and tap the exercise tile. Tap an exercise to see more information about it. For more information, see How do I track exercise and activity with my Fitbit device? and What should I know about exercise goals in the Fitbit app?

How do I set and update my goals?

  1. Tap the Today tab User-added image, and tap your profile picture.
  2. Find the Goals section and tap the goal you want to view or adjust. 
  3. Tap the part of the goal you want to adjust, and follow the on-screen instructions to make your changes.

How do I start a challenge or adventure? 

  1. Tap the Discover tab User-added image > Challenges & Adventures.
  2. Choose a challenge or adventure, and tap to select it.

How do I start a Fitbit Coach workout? 

  1. Tap the Discover tab User-added image > Workouts
  2. Find a workout, and tap to select it. Tap Open in Fitbit Coach to begin your workout in the Fitbit Coach app.

Can I go back to the old Fitbit app experience? 

After you switch to the new app experience, you can no longer access the old Fitbit app design. Over the next few months, the old Fitbit app design won’t be available, and the new app experience will become permanent.

Where do I find information about my Fitbit device? 

  1. Tap the Today tab User-added image.
  2. Place your finger on the screen and pull down, then release. Your device and its current battery level appear, and your device syncs.
