What should I know about health coaching in the Fitbit app?

Get personalized guidance and a structured plan from a certified health coach to help you meet your goals. Your subscription includes Fitbit Premium, which offers hundreds of workouts, mindfulness sessions, sleep details, and more.

After you sign up, complete an optional 3-minute survey to help your health coach get to know you. Questions cover your health history, preferred coaching style, and primary wellness goals.

Your coach can see data you track manually and automatically in the Fitbit app, including:
- Steps taken
- Hours slept
- Resting heart rate
- Weight
- Active minutes
- Food logs, or calories and macronutrients logged in an app connected to your Fitbit account
- History of guided programs
- Daily and weekly actions
- Answers to your personal assessment

On the Today tab , tap the Health Coaching tile
Message Your Coach. Read or send a message.

Send a message to your coach when you need support, and they’ll reply as soon as they can. Coaches typically work Monday to Friday. Let your coach know how often you prefer to keep in touch.

Your coach creates an action plan of 3 to 5 daily or weekly objectives to help you meet your goals. For example, you might have tasks to exercise 3 days a week, eat more vegetables, and practice mindfulness. Each time you finish a task, you can mark it as complete on your plan. Your coach can track your progress and see how many actions you complete.
To manage your action plan:
- On the Today tab
, tap the Health Coaching tile.
- Under Your plan, tap the circle next to an action to mark it as complete. Tap it again to mark it as incomplete.
- To manage your actions from a previous day, tap the arrow next to Today until you find the day; then, repeat step 2.

Receive reminders on your phone to complete the tasks in your action plan. You receive action reminders daily until you complete the action the scheduled number of times that week.
Make sure your phone can receive notifications from the Fitbit app (usually managed in your phone’s Settings app). To see action reminders on your wrist on certain Fitbit devices, see How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?
To set, adjust, or turn off an action reminder:
- On the Today tab
in the Fitbit app, tap the Health Coaching tile > notifications icon
in the top right.
- To set or edit a reminder, tap an action > set or adjust the time > tap Save Time. To turn a reminder on or off, tap the switch icon
.
Note that health coaches can also set and manage action reminders.

On the Today tab , tap the Health Coaching tile
your coach's name. Read their profile.

To request a different coach, ask your current coach or contact Customer Support. You’ll be matched with another coach who can better help you meet your goals.

Manage or cancel your subscription based on how you signed up for health coaching. Note: If you cancel your subscription, you can't re-enroll in health coaching.

Manage your subscription through your phone's app store.
To manage or cancel your subscription:
- In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab
your profile picture.
- Scroll down and tap Manage Subscriptions. Your active subscriptions open in your phone's app store.
- Tap your Fitbit Premium + Health Coaching subscription. Choose to downgrade to Premium only or to cancel your full Premium + Health Coaching subscription. Note that you won't see this option if you already canceled your subscription.
If you purchased a Premium + Health Coaching subscription in your phone’s app store, but you don’t see your subscription in the Fitbit app, restore your purchase.
To restore your subscription purchase:
- In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab
your profile picture.
- Scroll down and tap Restore Purchases
OK.

To remove health coaching from your Premium subscription, or to cancel your full Premium + Health Coaching subscription, contact Customer Support.
