What should I know about health coaching in the Fitbit app?

Health coaching is available to Fitbit users in the United States who are at least 18 years old.

If you’re not a Premium subscriber, sign up for Premium + Health Coaching on fitbit.com. If you’re a current Premium subscriber, add health coaching to your subscription based on how you purchased Premium.
Note: New subscribers may be eligible for a free trial.

- Go to the Fitbit Premium + Health Coaching page.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to start your free trial. Note: when you purchase a recurring subscription through fitbit.com, you receive an email invitation to create an account and manage your subscription.
Next, go to the Fitbit app on your phone. On the Today tab , tap Health Coaching: Get Started to complete a short survey about your health history and wellness goals.

If you purchased Premium in the Fitbit app:
- On the Discover tab
, swipe down to Health Coaching.
- Tap Get a personal health coach.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add health coaching to your Premium subscription.
- After you register, go to the Today tab
and tap Health Coaching: Get Started to complete a short survey about your health history and wellness goals.
If you purchased Premium on fitbit.com:
- Go to the Fitbit Premium + Health Coaching page.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add health coaching to your Premium subscription.
Next, go to the Fitbit app on your phone. On the Today tab , tap Health Coaching: Get Started to complete a short survey about your health history and wellness goals.

After you sign up, complete an optional 3-minute survey to help your health coach get to know you. Questions cover your health history, preferred coaching style, and primary wellness goals.

Your coach can see the following data tracked in the Fitbit app:
- Steps taken
- Hours slept
- Resting heart rate
- Weight
- Active minutes
- Food logs, or calories and macronutrients logged in an app connected to your Fitbit account
- History of guided programs
- Daily and weekly actions
- Answers to your personal assessment

On the Today tab , tap the Health Coaching tile > Message Your Coach. Read or send a message.

Send a message to your coach when you need support, and they’ll reply as soon as they can. Coaches typically work Monday to Friday. Let your coach know how often you prefer to keep in touch.

Your coach creates an action plan of 3 to 5 daily or weekly objectives to help you meet your goals. For example, you might have tasks to exercise 3 days a week, eat more vegetables, and practice mindfulness. Each time you finish a task, you can mark it as complete on your plan. Your coach can track your progress and see how many actions you complete.
To manage your action plan:
- On the Today tab
, tap the Health Coaching tile.
- Under Your plan, tap the circle next to an action to mark it as complete. Tap it again to mark it as incomplete.
- To manage your actions from a previous day, tap the arrow next to Today until you find the day; then, repeat step 2.

On the Today tab , tap the Health Coaching tile > your coach's name. Read their profile.

To request a different coach, ask your current coach or contact Customer Support. You’ll be matched with another coach who can better help you meet your goals.

Manage or cancel your subscription based on how you signed up for health coaching.

Manage your subscription through your phone's app store.
To manage or cancel your subscription:
- In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab
> your profile picture.
- Scroll down and tap Manage Subscriptions. Your active subscriptions open in your phone's app store.
- Tap your Fitbit Premium + Health Coaching subscription. Choose to downgrade to Premium only or to cancel your full Premium + Health Coaching subscription. Note that you won't see this option if you already canceled your subscription.
If you purchased a Premium + Health Coaching subscription in your phone’s app store, but you don’t see your subscription in the Fitbit app, restore your purchase.
To restore your subscription purchase:
- In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab
> your profile picture.
- Scroll down and tap Restore Purchases > OK.

To remove health coaching from your Premium subscription, contact or to cancel your full Premium + Health Coaching subscription,Customer Support.
