With the Fitbit app, you can manage various device settings directly from your mobile device. You may see additional options compared to the items mentioned below, depending on which device you have paired to your Fitbit.com account.
Accessing Device SettingsFrom the app dashboard, tap your tracker name.
Background sync allows your iOS device to directly sync with your tracker at regular intervals even while the application is in the background or your iOS device is asleep. Your tracker will still sync with the Fitbit app even if background sync is not enabled, but it will require that you open the Fitbit app to start syncing.
Background sync may have an impact on battery life on both your iPhone device and your tracker. If you notice your battery draining quickly on either device, you may want to disable background sync.
If you want to initiate a force sync of your tracker data with the Fitbit app, tap the button next to Sync Now. This will load the latest data from your tracker to the Fitbit app and Fitbit.com Dashboard.
Change the greeting text for your tracker.
The Last Sync field will let you know the last time your tracker was synced to either your computer, or your mobile device. If your device is currently syncing, the status will be indicated here.
The Battery Level displays the current battery level of your tracker.
Update your device
Occasionally, a version update may be available for your tracker. You can install version updates directly from your iOS device by tapping your tracker name on the app dashboard and then tapping Update Available.
