You can use the Fitbit app to view your friends leaderboard, accept incoming friend invites, and add friends from your Android contact list.
Viewing the leaderboard
To view the leaderboard, simply tap the menu at the top of the app, and tap Friends. This screen shows your rankings based on the 7-day step total.
Note: The 7-day step total is taken from data synced to Fitbit.com. If you or a friend haven't synced your tracker, that data will not be reflected in this total.
Finding and adding friends
You can add friends from your Android address book by tapping the + button in the top-right of the screen.
The friend finder screen separates contacts in two ways:
- Contacts on Fitbit--These contacts are already Fitbit.com users. The app creates this list by matching up your Android contact list with the Fitbit.com user database. Adding contacts from this list will send a request to the user on their Fitbit.com Dashboard, as well as to their email. They will be added to your leaderboard once they accept the friend request.
- Contacts not yet on Fitbit --These contacts do not currently have an account on Fitbit.com. Adding contacts from this list would invite them to be a user on Fitbit.com as well as add them to your leaderboard.
Responding to friend requests
Friend requests are visible on the Add Friends screen. Tap the menu at the top of the app > tap Friends > tap the + button > tap Requests to manage requests. From here you can choose to accept or ignore the request.
Tap the check to accept a request and your friend will now appear in your friends leaderboard.
If you tap the X on a friend request, that request will be ignored.
