Setting up your tracker with the Fitbit app for Android

Last updated: Mar 06, 2014 01:13PM

You can use the Fitbit App to set up an unpaired tracker on your new or existing Fitbit account.

Unlike standard Bluetooth devices, like headsets, your Fitbit tracker will be set up directly through the Fitbit app and not through your Android device's Bluetooth pairing settings.

If you're new to Fitbit:

  1. Open the Fitbit app.
  2. Tap Set Up.
  3. Choose your device.
  4. Enter your email address and desired password and tap Next.
  5. Enter your basic profile information and tap Save.
Your information is used to calculate your Base Metabolic Rate (BMR), which determines your calorie count for activities.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions to proceed.

If you have an existing account:

  1. Open the Fitbit app.
  2. Log in to the Fitbit app.
  3. Tap the menu button.
  4. Choose Devices.
  5. Tap Set up New Device.
  6. Choose your device.
  7. Follow the onscreen instructions to continue.
